Macquarie University upgrades to 1,500 outlets with CommScope

Macquarie University needed to upgrade the outdated network and audio-visual capabilities in its 25-year-old law building to support modern legal education, including virtual court proceedings, and to align with the university's sustainability principles. To achieve a future-ready, scalable, and visually appealing facility, the university worked with vendor CommScope and its PartnerPRO network provider, EDF Systems.

CommScope provided a structured cabling solution using its SYSTIMAX Cat6a UTP cable and single-mode fibre, totaling approximately 1,500 outlets and 90,000 metres of cable. The solution, supported by a 25-year warranty, was meticulously planned using CommScope's design tools to fit the building's unique pre-formed pathways. This seamless installation resulted in a perfectly integrated network that supports state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment throughout the refurbished building, ensuring students have access to future-focused connectivity.
