AmerisourceBergen eliminates 3 IDF rooms with CommScope PoE solution

AmerisourceBergen, a major pharmaceutical services company, faced a challenge when expanding the parking garage at its Fort Mill facility. They needed to efficiently deploy security cameras and emergency phones but found that the initial plan for four telecom rooms was financially and logistically prohibitive due to the required infrastructure. AmerisourceBergen turned to vendor CommScope for a Power over Ethernet (PoE) solution.

CommScope implemented its Powered Fiber Cable System, which included PoE extenders and hybrid copper/fiber cable. This solution allowed AmerisourceBergen to eliminate three of the four planned telecom rooms, resulting in significant facilities cost savings. The project was completed on time and on budget, delivering a more reliable PoE service with a simpler, smaller operational footprint.
