A Commonplace Case Study
Team London Bridge is a Business Improvement District working to make the London Bridge area a well-managed, attractive destination for businesses, residents and visitors. To inform a 10‑year supplementary planning document (SPD) and capture views from businesses, residents and landowners — including hard‑to‑reach groups and younger people — they used Commonplace’s web‑based community engagement tool over a 12‑month period.
Commonplace delivered an interactive landing page and neighbourhood map to crowdsource opinions and analyse trends, generating 504 comments, reaching 244 people and identifying 7 key needs. The platform skewed younger (majority under 50, over 40% under 40), produced a clear evidence base for Team London Bridge’s Action Plan, and helped make consultation more inclusive, transparent and widely debated.
