Social Media and Community Engagement in Catford Island

Catford Island, a mixed development site in South London being regenerated by Lewisham Council, needed to engage local residents early and at scale to gather views on the proposed plans. To do this, the team worked with Commonplace and used its social media promotion package to help reach the local community and encourage participation in the consultation.

Commonplace ran a month-long social promotion campaign with targeted platforms, coordinated branding, and one-click links to surveys and proposal pages. The campaign reached over 44,000 people, drove 7,257 project page visits, and generated 231 contributions, with a 1.7% click-through rate and a 3.2% conversion rate; 20% of confirmed contributions came from 18–30 year olds.
