Doncaster Council needed to rapidly gather local evidence for its Levelling Up Fund bid to support town-centre regeneration, cultural and heritage assets, and wider improvements across Doncaster. With internal communications capacity stretched by the pandemic, the council turned to Commonplace’s digital community engagement platform, working alongside Locality to reach residents, business owners, and visitors.
Commonplace helped Doncaster Council run a mobile-optimised online consultation and targeted Facebook campaign in just over two weeks, engaging 1,948 unique visitors and generating 521 contributions from 281 respondents. The feedback was largely positive or neutral at 91%, and the council used the insights to shape its bid, helping secure £18.4 million in Levelling Up Fund investment.
