Anglo American's Moranbah North Mine was facing poor production rates and significant operational challenges, including a roof collapse, due to inefficient work management using disconnected spreadsheets and whiteboards. To address this, the mine brought in vendor Commit Works to implement an effective shift planning and resourcing tool.

Commit Works provided its flagship software, CiteOps, a fully integrated management operating system. This solution replaced the old tools, improved coordination and safety compliance, and allowed for real-time plan updates. The results were a 39% production increase in the first year and an 88% improvement over five years, enabling the mine to win an industry award and leading to a global rollout of the software across Anglo American's operations.
