Global Investment Bank, one of the world’s largest investment banks with development teams spread across the globe, needed to reduce security vulnerabilities earlier in the software development lifecycle. To raise awareness across a large developer community with minimal disruption, the bank engaged Commissum to create a quick, practical application security training solution.

Commissum delivered a bespoke, Flash-based e-learning “training nugget” built around the OWASP Top 10, with some tailoring for the bank’s specific risks. The module used simple graphics and interaction to show common vulnerabilities, how they appear in applications, and how developers can avoid them, while also tracking completion through multiple-choice questions and certificates. The rollout was a strong success, with high take-up, strong trainee satisfaction, and a noticeable positive impact on security awareness across the development community.
