Recapturing Revenue From Out-Of-Stock Items

Pulp & Paper Product Supplier, a major pulp and paper manufacturer, was losing sales and brand equity to frequent out-of-stock (OOS) errors, third-party duplicate listings, and wasted ad spend due to poor visibility into inventory and algorithmic listing issues. To fix this the company engaged CommerceIQ and deployed CIQ Unified, CommerceIQ’s combined sales, operations, and advertising platform, to monitor PDPs and detect/reinstate falsely OOS ASINs and third-party incursions.

CommerceIQ used CIQ Unified to monitor 200+ PDPs, automatically submit Amazon reinstatement tickets, flag 3P variants, and run inventory-aware advertising that pauses or reallocates spend based on stock levels. Those automations (including 792 automated reinstatement actions in a recent three-month period and ~6,400 ad actions per quarter) prevented an estimated $2.9M in annual revenue leakage, lifted ROAS from ~2x to 5.4x over two years, increased Share of Voice by 2.15 percentage points, and drove a 151% increase in incremental ad-driven revenue in three months.
