From online catalog to ecommerce in under three months

Louwman Group, a large family-run automotive company in Europe, wanted to add self-service ecommerce to its existing catalog-based websites for brands like Suzuki, Toyota, and Lexus. The challenge was to let customers buy online while maintaining a high-touch dealer network, and to do it in a MACH-friendly way. Commerce Layer was brought in to help make the existing catalog shoppable.

Commerce Layer, implemented with Lab Digital, was introduced into Louwman Group’s stack to power transactions for an MVP focused on Suzuki accessories, adding pricing, stock, cart, and checkout capabilities. Integrated with Akeneo, Wagtail, SAP, Adyen, and PostNL/Easypost, the solution launched in three months and created a reusable foundation for rolling commerce out across more brands and categories.
