Building a multi-tenant, turnkey commerce solution for 250+ independent wineries

WinePlatform, a turnkey service from Tannico for independent wineries, needed a fast, cost-effective, and multi-tenant commerce solution. The challenge was to build a unified platform that could quickly onboard new brands, allowing each to operate under their own brand with full autonomy over SKUs, prices, and promotions, while integrating with existing warehouse logistics. They chose Commerce Layer for its flexible architecture to be the transaction engine for this service.

Commerce Layer provided the multi-tenant commerce engine that powers the solution. By creating separate organizations for each winery, Commerce Layer enabled WinePlatform to onboard new brands in about an hour. The solution integrated with external CRMs for omnichannel promotions and handled complex international taxes and duties. This allowed WinePlatform to successfully support over 250 wineries, helping them reach 20+ international markets with 10+ CRM and 5+ booking system integrations available.
