Big Green Egg, the UK and Ireland retail partner for the iconic outdoor charcoal cooker, wanted to transform its ecommerce site from a simple acquisition store into a richer customer destination. Working with Commerce Layer on a replatform from Magento 1.0, the brand needed a better way to educate shoppers, support complex purchase decisions, and build a long-term relationship with its community of “Eggheads.”

Commerce Layer powered a headless, composable commerce setup alongside DatoCMS, Algolia, Nuxt.js, Edgio, and Cloudflare, enabling shoppable content, interactive purchase flows, and flexible shipping and delivery options. The redesign delivered strong results for Big Green Egg, including a 60% increase in revenue, 71% higher average order value, a 23% lift in conversion rate, and a 35% reduction in checkout abandonment.
