Commerce Bancshares implemented a streamlined payment system that encouraged vendors to accept electronic payments via AP Card or ACH. This solution dramatically increased AP department efficiency, saving approximately $500,000 in labor costs by reallocating staff and preventing new hires. Furthermore, the AP Card program generated approximately $500,000 in revenue share over five years. The use of Prepaid Expense Cards for delivery drivers also improved customer service by enabling on-the-spot warranty repairs.
