Biogen, a pioneer in biotechnology with a leading portfolio for treating neurological conditions, needed a secure, centralized way to handle HR requests from current and former employees. The HR team lacked an internal automation solution to submit, monitor, and route sensitive requests, and—being a medically regulated company—did not have a 21 CFR Part 11–compliant electronic signature process for approvals.

Comity partnered with Biogen to build an internal HR portal using Salesforce Service Cloud, integrating FormAssembly, Workday, and DocuSign to automate case routing, approvals, and e-signature compliance. The result is a unified, cloud-based HR Connect portal that lets employees submit and track requests, gives HR control over routing and approver assignments, produces performance reports, and meets 21 CFR Part 11 requirements—delivering immediate benefits to HR and Biogen’s 7,500 employees.
