Peoples Federal Savings Bank, a small community bank in Greater Boston, faced the challenge of competing against larger rivals in a major metropolitan market while needing to attract younger consumers for long-term growth. To reach this audience, the bank worked with Comcast Spotlight to build a multi-screen advertising campaign using targeted TV and digital placements.
Comcast Spotlight focused the campaign on the Comcast zones where Peoples Federal’s branches were competing, combining TV spots on youth- and sports-oriented networks with pre-roll video, in-banner video, and email center ads on XFINITY.com. The effort drove a 250% increase in checking account sales, a one-point rise in household penetration by branch, and brought in younger account holders with an average age of 41, well below the bank’s prior customer average.
