Widener University Makes Accessing The Internet “Seamless, Secure And Reliable” With Comcast Ethernet Dedicated Internet Service

Widener University, a doctorate-granting metropolitan university with about 7,000 students and four campuses (Chester, Exton, Harrisburg and Wilmington), needed to deliver reliable, high-bandwidth Internet across its sites and to K–12 districts it serves. Rapid growth in devices and demand — and a prior outage caused by shared fiber — exposed the need for independent connectivity, redundancy and disaster-recovery capabilities to keep learning and campus services running.

Widener deployed Comcast Ethernet Dedicated Internet Service with separate cabling and an independent access point, giving the university enterprise-scale bandwidth, failover redundancy and a smooth cutover. The result is secure, highly available Internet for students, faculty and K–12 clients, faster recovery from outages, and the sustained connectivity needed to support Widener’s teaching, scholarship and community programs.
