Case Study: Utz Quality Foods achieves faster, scalable networking and lower voice costs with Comcast Business

A Comcast Business Case Study

Preview of the Utz Quality Foods Case Study

Utz Quality Foods Dips Into Comcast Business Ethernet and PRI Trunks to Connect Multiple Locations Across the Eastern United States

Utz Quality Foods, a century-old snack manufacturer with nine plants and more than 50 distribution centers across 22 states, expanded rapidly through three acquisitions and needed to modernize its communications. The company was relying on slow, costly T1 lines and disparate local voice providers, creating bandwidth constraints, high phone bills, and management complexity as it added locations.

Utz consolidated voice and data with Comcast Business—deploying Ethernet Dedicated Internet, Ethernet Private Line, Business Internet and Business Trunks—replacing multiple T1s (a 20 Mbps EDI at HQ replaced three T1s for up to four times the capacity) and adding EPL links at key plants. The result: faster, scalable Internet, reliable and lower‑cost voice service, deployment at roughly half its sites, and simpler, centralized management with measurable cost savings.
