Stockton College Keeps Students Connected with Fiber-Based Ethernet from Comcast Business

Stockton College, a four-year liberal arts school in southern New Jersey serving about 8,400 students across a main campus and multiple satellite locations, faced growing demand on its aging T1-based network as enrollment, residential housing and remote classrooms expanded. Administrators needed a fast, reliable and easily scalable campus-wide connection that would support increasing numbers of devices and new academic and administrative services while controlling operating expenses.

Working with Comcast Business and NJEDge.Net, Stockton deployed a 500 Mbps Ethernet Dedicated Internet (EDI) link at its main campus and Ethernet Private Lines (EPL) to connect four satellite sites and the research network. The solution delivered cost-effective, high‑performance connectivity and campus-wide Wi‑Fi, enabled centralized control of remote classroom equipment, supported live construction and security camera feeds, and gave the college the scalability and resiliency needed to accommodate continued growth and new use cases.
