A Comcast Business Case Study
Rockford Career College, a 150-year‑old two‑year career school in downtown Rockford serving about 500 mostly adult students, needed to deliver 21st‑century skills to help rebuild the local economy. The college planned BYOD, e‑textbooks, online coursework and new IT certification classes but was hamstrung by a single 12 Mbps campus connection that caused streaming problems and prevented technology‑based learning.
RCC upgraded to Comcast Business Ethernet Dedicated Internet — a 100 Mbps connection scalable to 10 Gbps — increasing bandwidth roughly sevenfold. The faster, scalable service supported the BYOD rollout, online course management, e‑learning tools and expanded IT curriculum, lowered monthly costs, enabled student savings via e‑textbooks, and improved preparedness for the modern workforce.
