A Comcast Business Case Study
LifeWorks Northwest, an Oregon nonprofit providing mental health, addiction, and prevention services across 16 Portland-area locations, employs more than 700 people and serves nearly 19,000 clients annually. The organization was constrained by a 25 Mbps MPLS hub-and-spoke network that caused slow application performance, outages when a single site failed, and network congestion during system updates, driving the need for greater capacity and reliability.
LifeWorks NW implemented Comcast Business Ethernet Network Service, deploying a 50 Mbps Ethernet connection across its 16 largest sites in a mesh-style LAN configuration. The upgrade — completed in about four months — delivered scalable, low-latency capacity, improved performance for medical documents and business applications, reduced costs, and accelerated business continuity by enabling full data center replication to a backup site in days rather than weeks.
