A Comcast Business Case Study
Jim Ellis Automotive is a family‑owned group of 14 dealerships around Atlanta that has grown into a nearly 1,000‑employee operation focused on high‑quality sales and service. As its business and online sales expanded, the company’s legacy network — a patchwork of MPLS, T1s and multiple vendors — could not support a bandwidth‑intensive dealer management system, created operational headaches for IT, and hindered customer service.
The group consolidated onto Comcast Business Ethernet Network Service and Ethernet Dedicated Internet, replacing MPLS with a fully meshed Ethernet WAN (50 Mbps between main campuses, 10 Mbps to other sites) and a single provider for redundancy and simplified support. The new network enabled deployment of the hosted dealer management system, streamlined operations, improved customer service, supported guest WiFi rollouts and a customer app, and provided the performance headroom for future digital initiatives.
