Grady Health System Delivers Digital Healthcare with Comcast Business Ethernet

Grady Health System, one of Georgia’s largest public health systems and a Level 1 trauma center serving Metro Atlanta, needed to modernize its network across 17 sites. Its system had grown into a patchwork of technologies and multiple vendors, creating complex management, billing headaches and slow connectivity that hindered electronic medical records, digital imaging and telemedicine.

Grady deployed Comcast Business Ethernet (including Ethernet Network Service and Ethernet Dedicated Internet) with fiber to each building — 300 Mbps to data centers, 50 Mbps to most remote sites and a 100 Mbps dedicated Internet link — moving to a single vendor for connectivity and support. The upgrade delivered higher, scalable WAN performance (about five times previous bandwidth), simplified operations and billing, enabled reliable EMR, PACS and telemedicine across sites, expanded remote specialist access and created a foundation for future digital healthcare initiatives.
