Cape Cod Community College Reaches for the Clouds with Business Ethernet

Cape Cod Community College, the only higher-education institution on Cape Cod serving about 4,000 mostly commuter students, was constrained by a 30 Mbps copper Internet connection while supporting 1,000 wired PCs and thousands of mobile devices. The college needed a fast, reliable, and scalable connection to improve access to academic resources, enable migration to cloud services, and control operating costs.

The college deployed Comcast Business Ethernet (500 Mbps EDI), gaining a 16× capacity increase for a comparable price to its legacy service. The upgrade delivered reliable, high-performance connectivity, enabled moves to Office 365 and cloud backups (cutting restore times from days to hours), reduced operating expenses, and provided the scalability to support VDI, remote academic programs, and expanded community initiatives.
