Transformation of Network Planning & Design Processes

E-Plus (now owned by Telefónica Germany), Germany’s third‑largest mobile operator with ~22.7 million customers, faced highly complex, fragmented network planning and rollout processes with hundreds of workarounds and long time‑to‑market for new technologies. To meet targets of a 50% increase in planning/rollout efficiency and reduce time‑to‑market to 3–6 months, E‑Plus engaged Comarch and selected the Comarch Next Generation Network Planning (NGNP) solution together with process reengineering services.

Comarch implemented NGNP as the core platform and redesigned end‑to‑end planning, integration and OSS processes (using eTOM/ITIL and BPMN), centralizing functions in Comarch OSS Process Management and Comarch Network Inventory. The project reduced 110 legacy processes to 65, automated data flows, standardized the NGOSS architecture, cut configuration errors and delivered the targeted ~50% efficiency improvement and faster time‑to‑market, while enabling easier outsourcing and partner integration — all driven by Comarch’s NGNP and transformation approach.
