Case Study: Telefónica achieves more efficient network planning and optimization with Comarch

A Comarch Case Study

Telefónica O2 Germany unifies OSS across 5 subsidiaries with Comarch

Telefónica O2 Germany, a major telecommunications company, faced exponential traffic growth and operational complexity in its Latin American subsidiaries due to a multi-vendor network managed by multiple legacy systems. This led to data discrepancies, high costs, and slow network planning. To address this, Telefónica partnered with Comarch to implement its Next Generation Network Planning solution as part of a Transport Optimization Program (TOP).

Comarch implemented a framework-based OSS solution including Network Inventory, Auto-discovery & Reconciliation, and Configuration Management modules. This provided a unified view of the network, automated processes, and improved data synchronization. The results for Telefónica included significant cost savings (reduced OPEX and CAPEX), better resource utilization, a simplified IT environment, and a greatly shortened time to market for new deployments across its five Latin American operations.
