A Comarch Case Study
MTS, Russia, a leading telecommunications group serving over 100 million mobile subscribers, faced a fragmented OSS landscape with network monitoring split across eight macro-regions, inconsistent regional implementations, and siloed processes that made maintenance and service-quality management difficult. To centralize operations and move monitoring into the service layer, MTS engaged Comarch to support an OSS transformation using Comarch’s Next Generation Service Assurance (NGSA) suite, Service Inventory and SLA Monitoring.
Comarch implemented a unified, NGSA-based “umbrella” solution and helped establish a Global Network Operations Center in Krasnodar, centralizing monitoring and standardizing processes. The Comarch deployment now monitors some 300,000 network elements (around 100 alarms/sec) and reduced alarms presented to operators by 50%, with faster problem resolution, service-layer monitoring via Comarch Service Inventory, and an NGSA console used by 80 concurrent users—delivering improved network reliability and lower operational costs.
