Fabbrica Italiana Lapis ed Affini (F.I.L.A. S.p.A.), an international manufacturer of school, office and fine art products with more than 35 branches and presence in 150+ countries, needed to harmonize a new SAP S/4HANA ERP across the group while replacing heterogeneous local electronic document exchange solutions. To tackle the simultaneous SAP rollout and global EDI migration—handling more than 200,000 documents annually—F.I.L.A. engaged Comarch to provide a unified electronic document exchange strategy.

Comarch deployed its Comarch EDI cloud-based B2B platform across all F.I.L.A. entities, along with Comarch e-Archive for legally compliant document storage and Comarch e-Invoicing for Italian branches to connect to Sistema di Interscambio. The solution automated and centralized document flows, enabled traffic monitoring and faster access to business data, and supported large-scale partner onboarding across Europe, the USA, Australia and China; the contract was signed in October 2017, first production implementations began in early 2018, and full rollout was scheduled for completion by end of 2020.
