engcon, a manufacturer of advanced excavator attachments, faced the challenge of supporting its rapid international growth with an outdated IT infrastructure. Following a failed initial project with another partner, the company engaged Columbus to guide its ERP implementation. Columbus utilized its Prepare for Change service to conduct a pre-study, analyzing engcon's business processes and readiness for a new system, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365.
The solution involved a series of workshops that provided an end-to-end view of engcon's processes, which helped identify pain points and value opportunities. Columbus fostered engagement across business units and aligned the project with engcon's corporate strategy. As a result, engcon gained greater organizational preparedness and a better understanding of the transformation. While tangible gains were not yet realized at the time of writing, Columbus established a strong partnership with engcon, significantly increasing the chances for a successful ERP implementation.
