Implementing disaster recovery measures with Colt Data Centre Services and Colt Wave

Experian Japan Co., Ltd., an IT service provider, needed stronger business continuity and disaster recovery measures after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The company wanted a secondary data centre outside central Tokyo, a cost-efficient high-bandwidth link between data centres, and 24x7 bilingual support to maintain availability for customer systems.

Colt Technology Services implemented Colt Data Centre Services, using TDC2 as Experian Japan’s secondary data centre and Colt Wave as the broadband connection between the primary and secondary sites for replication and backup. The solution supported high availability and BCP/DR readiness, with Experian Japan noting that TDC2 and Colt Wave were indispensable to its DR program; the company also plans to use the secondary site for traffic distribution and to improve response times by moving offshore data centre traffic to Japan.
