The customer, a US-based proprietary trading firm, sought to establish and quickly expand its trading presence in Japan and across Asia. Its challenge was to move beyond using a single broker in Japan to access improved pricing and execution, requiring local infrastructure and connectivity despite having no legal entity in the country. The firm selected Colt Technology Services for its managed colocation and networking solutions to meet this need.

Colt provided a managed solution including premium colocation on the same data center floor as the Japan Exchange Group (JPX) matching engine, a high-speed JPX connection, and resilient inter-data-center links. This was supplemented with low-latency wave services to other major Asian exchanges. As a result, JPX became an important market for the firm, which was able to rapidly expand its business throughout Asia with Colt consistently meeting its pressing deadlines for new connectivity.
