Engie targets carbon neutrality with data governance strategy

ENGIE, a leading European energy and utilities company, was working to support its carbon-neutrality goals while transforming from siloed regional operations into four enterprise-wide divisions. To do that, it needed a better way to access, share, and trust data across sources like weather, IoT sensors, pricing, customers, and energy operations. ENGIE turned to Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, including Data Catalog, Data Governance, and Data Lineage.

Collibra helped ENGIE connect data across business units through its Common Data Hub, improving standardization, data sharing, and governance. The company expects the platform to save time and money, reduce spreadsheet-based manual work, and make decision-making more agile with more reliable, trusted answers. ENGIE also noted that Collibra is already supporting 25 other projects and is helping improve control of data to drive better operational performance.
