Anne Arundel Improves Healthcare Decision-making by “consumerizing” Data With the Collibra Platform

Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC), a regional health system serving more than one million people, faced fragmented analytics across Epic, Qlik, PeopleSoft and custom SQL reports that made it hard for staff to find trusted data. The lack of consolidated metadata and growing technical debt led to duplicate report requests and inefficiency, so AAMC turned to Collibra and its data governance platform to address the problem.

Collibra helped AAMC build Data Bay using the Collibra platform’s Business Glossary and Report Catalog, providing a single, searchable front end (accessible in Epic, browser, or mobile) that exposes report summaries while removing PHI from metadata and enabling access requests. The solution delivered Google-like search and drill-downs, eliminated maintenance on more than 1,000 duplicate or deprecated reports, drove leadership adoption across the C-suite and medical directors, and produced measurable efficiency and cost savings for the organization.
