Case Study: Adobe achieves deeper data understanding and a stronger data culture with Collibra

A Collibra Case Study

Adobe strengthens data culture by engaging employees

Adobe, a global software leader with roughly 18,000 employees, needed to make business and data term definitions available to people where they work—without forcing users to leave tools like Tableau. To achieve this, Adobe used Collibra’s Data Governance Center (and Collibra Connect) to house certified definitions and sought to embed those definitions directly into other applications so employees could access authoritative meanings in context.

Collibra helped Adobe integrate governance with analytics by transferring metric definitions into a MySQL table via Collibra Connect and surfacing them in Tableau as a separate data source, enabling mouseover definitions and links back to Collibra metadata. The integration increased engagement (50–100 unique Collibra users per day via the channel and more than 4,000 unique users—about 22% of Adobe’s workforce—as of summer 2018) and spawned additional projects (PowerBI and CRM integrations, an acronyms glossary, and a Collibra‑API‑driven chatbot) that deepened Adobe’s data culture.
