Enabling the Largest School District in Florida to Ensure Safe and Reliable Transportation for Their Students

Marion County Public Schools, the largest district in Florida serving over 42,000 students across 50 schools, needed a better way to manage a large bus fleet (800+ assets), multiple repair shops, 27 technicians, ~3,000 inventory parts and roughly 120 work orders per week. The district’s goals were clearer data management and reporting, timely preventative maintenance, optimized resource allocation, and tighter parts-tracking.

MCPS implemented Collective Data’s collectiveFleet, a configurable, cloud-based fleet management system with real-time reporting, automated PM alerts, school-level vehicle allocation, parts inventory tracking and technician time logging. The solution streamlined fleet processes, kept PMs on schedule, improved technician productivity and inventory accuracy, and delivered tailored reports for operations and budgeting.
