A CollabNet VersionOne Case Study
A large global investment bank with teams in 35 countries needed to reconcile its fast-moving Agile development practices with a parent-company mandate to achieve CMMI Maturity Level 3. The challenge was to standardize processes and produce audit-ready evidence of consistent practice across distributed teams without imposing heavy bureaucracy that would slow delivery or disrupt existing Agile workflows.
The bank adopted CollabNet’s ALM platform—using Subversion, Project Tracker and reusable Agile templates—to link requirements to code, automate artifact tracking and enable traceability, reporting and collaboration. The approach preserved Agile ways of working, was approved by CMMI consultants, rolled out to 72 teams in six months, and delivered faster audits and better control while cutting documentation overhead (~25–30% of development time), improving release quality, lowering support costs and reducing risk.
