ADVA Optical Networking, a global leader in Optical + Ethernet transport with roughly 1,000 employees and about 200 distributed software engineers, struggled with fragmented development tools and processes following rapid growth and acquisitions. After a six-month pilot, ADVA migrated major projects to CollabNet’s ALM (built on Subversion), gaining an integrated, web-based suite that tied defects to source code, supported in‑house and third‑party tool integrations, and added virtual lab management for builds and testing.
