A Colibri Case Study
RYB, a polyethylene solutions specialist based in Isère, France, faced strong seasonality, long manufacturing lead times, and the limits of Excel-based forecasting. The company needed a better way to support S&OP collaboration, improve planning reliability, reduce stockouts and safety stock, and better manage production and transportation costs. To meet these needs, RYB turned to Colibri for sales forecasting and S&OP planning.
Colibri implemented a simple, collaborative forecasting tool that enabled real-time simulations by family, customer, and product, while supporting capacity/load arbitration during S&OP meetings. The results were significant: forecasting time dropped from more than 10 days to 3 days per month for one person, forecasting reliability improved from 65% to 92%, safety stock decreased from 1.2 to 0.9, and inventory availability rose from 72% to 84% overall, reaching 95% for class A products. Colibri also helped generate an estimated monthly gain of €200k in inventory immobilization.
