Schaeffler, a motion technology company serving industrial and automotive OEMs, needed a better way to improve design review quality, speed, and traceability. In partnership with PTC and using CoLab’s Design Engagement System, the team looked to reduce lost feedback, simplify review management, and make it easier to reference historical design decisions tied to specific CAD versions.

CoLab implemented structured design reviews on 3D models, with comments, action items, and version history captured in one place and integrated with Windchill for access control. Schaeffler expanded from a 50-user pilot to 300 users, sped up reviews while improving documentation and quality, and reduced waste such as duplicate markups and unnecessary emails; the rollout was also praised for its short learning curve, with teams able to start using CoLab in about an hour.
