Johnson Controls (JCI), a global technology and industrial leader, needed a new way to hit ambitious cost-reduction targets when the pandemic halted its travel-dependent, in-person VA/VE events. With global travel budgets cut and teams spread across many locations, JCI struggled to keep product-development communication effective and to give non-CAD users access to complex 3D design data.

CoLab Software provided a browser-based, cloud collaboration platform that let JCI run virtual VA/VE events across global factories, review the same 3D models in real time or asynchronously, and track ideas with priorities, statuses, and due dates.
