Groupement des Cartes Bancaires (GIE CB), the governance body for France’s CB payment network, faced a cumbersome backup process: weekly disk-to-tape backups outsourced for protection took up to 48 hours (often failing) across 140 VMs and roughly 18 TB per week. As part of an infrastructure renewal, CB — with partner Skill Partner — sought a simpler, more scalable solution to improve performance, reliability and compliance.

CB deployed Cohesity DataProtect with SmartFiles and Security Advisor, centralizing backup, replication, search and security management. Backups now run nightly with immediate replication (the full process reduced to under two hours, and routine duplication reported as low as 10 minutes), while advanced deduplication, fast keyword search and security monitoring improved compliance, simplified administration and freed IT time for cloud archiving and migration projects.
