Schneider Electric Moves to the Cloud with Cohesity’s Secondary Data Platform

Schneider Electric, a Fortune Global 500 leader in energy management operating in more than 100 countries, needed to modernize its secondary data environment across 28 sites and six data hubs. With 90% virtualization, more than 300 TB of data growing ~12% annually, and full tape backups taking over 40 hours (plus ~$20K/year in maintenance), the IT team sought a cloud-forward, simple solution to speed backups and restores, eliminate tape, and standardize data protection globally.

Working with RoundTower, Schneider selected Cohesity (C2500 nodes) integrated with Pure Storage and Microsoft Azure Blob to provide a hybrid cloud secondary data platform. The rollout across global sites moved them off legacy backups in 30 days for North America and soon after to other regions, cutting full backup times from 40+ hours to about one hour, reducing backup footprint 20x, enabling minute-level restores, and delivering up to $60K/year in cost savings (with $20K/year maintenance savings) and a projected five-year ROI.
