Origin Property Public Company Limited is a leading Thai real estate developer that experienced rapid growth and a corresponding surge in data from ERP, customer databases and other core applications. The company relied on a legacy backup solution with long nightly windows (over 20 hours) and inadequate protection; when ransomware attacked and corrupted primary storage and previous backups, Origin faced a complete operational halt and the prospect of paying a ransom to recover critical data.

Having just begun a proof of concept with Cohesity’s Data Cloud, Origin used Cohesity to restore its entire environment in under three hours, avoiding the ransom demand. The new solution also slashed backup windows by about 85 (to under three hours), reduced TCO, and provides easy scalability to protect future cloud workloads.
