Manhattan Associates, a supply‑chain and omnichannel software provider managing roughly 1 PB of data, faced an aging secondary storage environment that was costly to extend, didn’t scale linearly, and created silos. The IT team needed a consolidated solution that would combine data protection and file services (NFS/SMB), integrate natively with AWS for long‑term archival, offer a simple management interface, and scale on a pay‑as‑you‑grow basis.

They deployed Cohesity’s web‑scale hyperconverged secondary storage (including CloudTier and CloudArchive) to provision NFS datastores, move cold VMs to AWS S3/Glacier with dedupe and compression, and eliminate tape. The result was improved VM protection and faster backups, easier in‑house upgrades and capacity expansion, lower CapEx via commodity hardware, reduced OpEx through a single converged platform, a higher operator‑to‑device ratio, and an overall reduction in TCO.
