Case Study: GES Systemhaus achieves unified hybrid data protection and cuts backup costs with Cohesity DataProtect

A Cohesity Case Study

Preview of the GES Systemhaus Case Study

GES Systemhaus protects customers’ critical data across hybrid environment with one solution

GES Systemhaus, the onsite IT services provider for more than 70 companies at the Kalle‑Albert Industrial Park in Wiesbaden, needed to replace its legacy backup setup after customers began requesting Microsoft 365 protection, faster file-level restores and stronger ransomware defenses. Maintaining a dedicated backup data center was costly, and the existing HPE solution could not back up cloud workloads, so GES sought a unified, cloud-capable data protection solution.

After a three-month proof of concept, GES selected Cohesity DataProtect delivered as a service (BaaS) on AWS. Cohesity now protects roughly 250 VMware VMs plus SAP, SQL and Microsoft 365 data, delivering 50% faster incremental backups, rapid granular restores, immutable cloud backups for ransomware recovery, and enough cost savings to retire the dedicated backup facility — with plans to consolidate additional data centers and expand DRaaS.
