Federal Clients Gain Seamless Data Management and Reduced TCO with Cohesity

SEVTECH, a Virginia-based IT consulting firm that serves federal, state and local agencies, was engaged to design a scalable, secure data management solution for a federal client with 40 branch locations — each managing up to 80 TB — that required jurisdictional data isolation, reliable backups of a virtualized environment, and replication to a disaster‑recovery site for business continuity.

After PoC evaluations, SEVTECH deployed Cohesity DataPlatform and DataProtect for a flexible, easy-to-deploy solution that also provided NAS services for VDI. The rollout delivered faster, more reliable restores (snapshot recovery improved >25% and overall backup/recovery times were cut by more than half vs. the prior solution), reduced TCO through lower disk and power needs and portable licensing, and enabled future on‑prem-to‑AWS replication and VM restores to support uninterrupted operations.
