Anana Selects Cohesity for Data Management and Reduces Backup Times by over 98%

Anana, a UK-based Platform-as-a-Service provider of multi-channel customer experience technology with offices in South Africa, was struggling with an increasingly complex storage environment and a legacy backup platform that couldn’t efficiently protect growing data sources. In particular, Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) on large SQL databases prevented proper deduplication, causing long full backups, missed RTO/RPO targets and rising operational overhead.

Anana deployed Cohesity DataPlatform and DataProtect (including DataPlatform Virtual Edition at HQ) across three sites, using change block tracking, instant clones and run-off-node access to simplify management and accelerate recovery. Backups that once took hours now complete in minutes—reducing backup time by over 98% and saving roughly 240 hours per month—while database cloning and near-instant restores have sped dev/test workflows and improved resiliency and scalability for future DR and expansion.
