Automated regression testing helps audiology company make updates faster

HIMSA, the Hearing Instrument Manufacturers’ Software Association and creator of the Noah clinical software platform, moved Noah to a full .NET release (Noah 4) and faced a huge regression-testing challenge: every release had to be backward-compatible across multiple Windows versions, more than 20 languages and numerous country settings. To speed releases and reduce human error, HIMSA engaged Coherent Solutions to incorporate automated regression testing using TestComplete.

Coherent Solutions’ Minsk team developed and maintained TestComplete automation scripts in close, Agile collaboration with HIMSA, moving from weekly to as-needed coordination as the teams merged processes. The automation established a regression baseline that now requires only script updates about one month before a release and runs roughly 20 new set-ups automatically, producing defect reports in a fraction of the time manual testing would take and significantly accelerating HIMSA’s release cycle.
