Lane County Develops Efficient Recovery Response Processes During Unprecedented Times

Lane County, one of Oregon’s largest and most geographically diverse counties, faced a dual crisis in 2020 as the pandemic and devastating wildfires disrupted communities across the region. To respond quickly and efficiently, the county turned to Cognito Forms, a platform already in use by its Human Services Division for homelessness services and rent assistance.

Using Cognito Forms, Lane County built online forms and tracking workflows to coordinate wildfire relief and later manage COVID-19 vaccine registration and scheduling. The solution helped the county capture residents’ needs, route cases to the right providers, preregister more than 80,000 people for vaccines, and run drive-thru vaccination lanes for up to 16 cars at a time, with the full check-in-to-checkout process taking about 33 minutes.
