How Rapid Third-party Integration in Cognite Data Fusion™ Empowers Mhwirth to Choose Partners

MHWirth, a leading global provider of drilling solutions and services, needed a better way to deliver on a new performance-based maintenance contract. The company had live sensor data from drilling equipment, but lacked the IT infrastructure to securely integrate and contextualize large data volumes for predictive analytics and visualization. Cognite, using Cognite Data Fusion™, was brought in to help solve this challenge.

Cognite implemented a rapid integration workflow that extracted data from MHWirth’s SAP system, onboard historians, and internal databases, then organized it in Cognite Data Fusion™ with a real-time asset hierarchy. This enabled MHWirth to plug in third-party analytics and visualization tools, including Statistica and Spotfire, to build predictive maintenance dashboards. The project was up and running in just a few weeks, helping MHWirth improve equipment reliability, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize unplanned downtime.
