Case Study: Aker BP reduces CO2 emissions with Cognite Data Fusion and InField

A Cognite Case Study

Preview of the Aker BP Case Study

How Cognite’s Software Helped Aker Bp Set Co2 Reduction Goals

Aker BP, one of Europe’s largest independent oil and gas operators, wanted to reduce offshore CO2 emissions at the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea. The company used Cognite’s Industrial DataOps software, including Cognite Data Fusion™ and InField, to support its emissions-reduction planning and improve collaboration around the project.

Using Cognite Data Fusion™ and InField, Aker BP’s engineers analyzed data, 3D models, and point cloud information to evaluate the addition of a steam turbine to the Skarv FPSO. Cognite helped enable a data-driven study that showed the project could cut CO2 emissions by 100,000 metric tons per year by 2025, reduce offshore planning days by about 60%, and lower maintenance costs by an estimated 30%.
