Wintershall Dea AG, a global producer of natural gas and crude oil, needed an easier way for its maintenance experts to view rotating equipment data at its Mittelplate oil field operations. The team spent too much time pulling sensor trends, equipment status, and key performance indicators from multiple systems, making it harder to analyze performance and support day-to-day maintenance decisions. Cognite Data Fusion™ was used to bring this information together in one place.
Cognite worked with Wintershall Dea to contextualize sensor trends, documents, and other equipment data in Cognite Data Fusion™, then build three Power BI dashboards for pumps and other critical rotating equipment. The dashboards provide at-a-glance access to trends, temperatures, early warnings, and P&IDs overlaid with live data. Wintershall Dea estimates the solution will save 7–10 hours per week for maintenance experts, while improving operational optimization, helping identify issues earlier, and increasing safety.
